Northfield Estate can accommodate up to 200 guests in its outdoor spaces. The Estate Ballroom can accommodate up to 60 for a seated reception.

Yes. Guest counts are capped at 60 people during the Off Peak season (December through March), when the Sailcloth Tent is unavailable.

The interior of the home is not handicap accessible. However, the venue has made provisions for all outdoor events to be ADA compliant.

You will have exclusive access to the property for 12 hours on Friday and Saturday or 10 hours Sunday through Thursday on the day of your event.

Due to county ordinances, all guests including vendors must depart from the property no later than 10:45 pm.

Yes. Northfield Estate welcomes licensed catering partners of your choice. All catering arrangements are made directly with your selected provider.

The venue provides 150 tan Willow ceremony chairs, 150 padded King Louis reception chairs, 15 round tables (72"), 10 high-top cocktail tables, an assortment of 4', 6' and 8' rectangular tables, and one white Estate Bar (6'). Setup and breakdown of all Northfield-owned tables and chairs is also included.

Guest counts greater than 150 will incur additional costs at $50 per person for supplemental tables and chairs.

The event rental fee varies based on time of year. Prices start at $11,000 for rental of Northfield Estate during Peak Season dates. The full 2027 rate card is on the pricing page, and the Northfield Estate Wedding Guide, with detailed information and pricing, is provided upon inquiry.

Yes. All clients are required to hire a professional, licensed and insured wedding planner that offers full planning, partial planning, or event management services.

With the exception of the venue's exclusive rental company, Rent-E-Quip, clients may hire any other vendors of their choosing.

All vendors must be licensed and insured and provide Northfield Estate with a Certificate of Insurance 30 days prior to the event.

Yes. Clients have access to the Sailcloth Tent and white draping from April through November. The tent is unavailable during the Off Peak season (December through March).

Clients are welcome to rent additional tents and accessories (side walls, fans, heaters, etc.) through Rent-E-Quip.

Not yet. Overnight lodging will be offered in the future. The venue is happy to provide recommendations for the nearest accommodations in Farmville, VA.

Depending on your guest count, the Ballroom and Sailcloth Tent can both serve as indoor/covered spaces in the event of rain for your ceremony and/or reception.

The Ballroom is the ceremony rain plan option for guest counts of 90 people or less.

The Sailcloth Tent is the ceremony rain plan option for guest counts of 90 people or more.

Yes. There are a total of 8 guest restrooms, including 2 handicap accessible restrooms, located on the lower terrace.

Yes. There is a large gravel parking lot that can accommodate 80+ vehicles. Handicap drop-off locations are available.

All events over 150 guests will require hired transportation.

Yes. All clients are required to obtain event insurance and provide Northfield with a copy.
